DAS Solar plans 5GW XBC cell plant as technology shifts to
Chinese module producer DAS Solar is planning a 5GW manufacturing facility focused on producing high-efficiency back contact cells.
On January 13, the first equipment for Grand Sunergy's 5GW High-Efficiency Heterojunction Photovoltaic (PV) Module Project at the Laizhou Heterojunction Dual-Carbon Industrial Park was successfully delivered and installed. The project, approved in August 2024, has been recognized as a major initiative in Shandong Province's 2025 development plan.
In May 2022, Huasun formally signed a cooperation agreement with the Dali State Government and Huaneng Lancang River Hydropower Co., Ltd., and will launch a 5GW bifacial microcrystalline high-efficiency HJT cell and module project in the Dali Economic and Technological Development Zone.
